What is Bleed?
Bleed is extra area beyond the final trim size where your design extends. It ensures no white edges appear after cutting, as cutting may be slightly imprecise.
What is Safe Margin?
The safe margin is the area where important content (text, logos) should stay. Content near the edge may be cut off or look unbalanced.
Standard Bleed Values
- 3.0 mm: Most common, standard for commercial printing
- 5.0 mm: Extra safe, sometimes required for large formats
- 3.2 mm (1/8"): Common in US printing
