Understanding Depth of Field
- DoF is the distance range where objects appear acceptably sharp
- Larger apertures (smaller f-numbers) create shallower DoF and larger bokeh
- Longer focal lengths create shallower DoF at the same distance
- Closer subjects have shallower DoF
- Hyperfocal distance: Focus here and everything from half this distance to infinity will be in focus
